General Info
Victor Dimoulis also actively participated during the main phase of ICC 1.0 where he was appointed as Assistant Project Manager of the local ICC team of Corfu.
Through this specific position, among other responsibilities, he took care of and participated in the planning and implementation of the obligations of the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands in relation to the axes it had been declared within the programme and mainly in relation to its two primary objectives. According to the participation application submitted by the Municipality, in order of priority, the axes of its participation were:
1. Waste management and circular economy
2. eGovernment and digitising public services
3. Smart and green mobility and transport
4. Scaling up renewable energy solutions and energy-efficiency
The successes that the local ICC 1.0 team had to present, always in collaboration with the competent Service and Deputy Mayor, regarding "Waste Management and Circular Economy" which were based on the work of Victor Dimoulis, are the following:

RELATED RECYCLING – SEPARATE WASTE COLLECTION ACTIONS
1. Pay As You Throw
Proposal and assistance for the submission of a participation file in the pilot programme "Pay As You Throw".
2. Smart Waste Management
Proposal to improve the current form of waste collection and upgrade it to "smart waste management" to create optimal routes, with the development of a network of smart sensors in as many bins as possible and the corresponding placement of sensors and GPS trackers on the Municipality's waste trucks.
3. Climathon
Proposal for the organization, in collaboration with other agencies, of the first “Climathon” in the island's history in 2020, while 2022 was the second year it was organized to raise public awareness about the Circular Economy and Climate Change.
Proposal for the participation of the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands for the first time in the history of the island in the European Week for Waste Reduction of 2020, while it was repeated again in 2022.
5. Blue Municipalities Network
Proposal for the participation of the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands, as a founding member, in the "Blue Municipalities Network" which focuses its activities on the protection of the marine environment.
6. MedfreeSUP
Proposal for the participation of the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands in the research project MEDfreeSUP which focused on the elimination of single-use plastics (Single Use Plastic) in coastal and island areas of the Mediterranean.
7. Covenant of Mayors
Proposal for the participation of the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands and the signing of the "Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy".
Establishment of new waste stream networks
1. FOR THE FIRST TIME , establishment and development of a municipal network of separate collection of lamps of all kinds in 20 different municipal buildings, in all administrative boundaries of the Municipality. click here 
2. FOR THE FIRST TIME, establishment and development of a municipal network of separate collection of small Electronic and Electrical devices in 10 different municipal buildings, in all administrative boundaries of the Municipality. click here
3. FOR THE FIRST TIME, establishment and development of a municipal network of separate collection of Ink Cartridges and Toner in 10 different municipal buildings, in all administrative boundaries of the Municipality. click here
4. FOR THE FIRST TIME, establishment and development of a municipal network of separate collection of cigarette residues (cigarette butts) at 40 different points within the city limits of Corfu, which will then be taken for recycling, constituting at the same time as the first Municipality in the Ionian Islands and in general in Western Greece who focused on this special waste stream. click here
5. FOR THE FIRST TIME, establishment and development of a municipal network of separate collection of used clothes and footwear (clothing) in 62 different places, within the limits of the city of Corfu with the aim of expanding the network in the future. click here
6. FOR THE FIRST TIME, establishment and development of an extensive municipal network of separate collection of household batteries in 46 different municipal buildings, in all administrative boundaries of the Municipality. click here
7. FOR THE FIRST TIME, establishment and installation of the 1st Marine Waste Collection Station (MWCS) in Anemomilos and strategic cooperation with Aegean Rebreath for the separate collection and recycling of marine waste located on the shores and seabeds of the Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands. The Municipality was honored with the "Best Practice for the Marine Environment" Award at the "GREEK GREEN AWARDS 2022" for the overall efforts of the Municipality regarding the protection of the island's marine and coastal environment. click here and here
8. FOR THE FIRST TIME, establishment of 1 point of donation and collection of non-expired medicines in favor of the Social Pharmacy of our Municipality and strategic cooperation of our Municipality with GIVMED to prevent the production of waste from medicines. click here and here
9. Also, FOR THE FIRST TIME, a separate collection network for used cooking oil will soon be established because all the necessary administrative procedures have been completed and a contractor has been appointed.
10. Receiving of 152 red bins for the further development of "Sorting at Source" and the separate collection of packaging (metal and/or plastic) from a sub-project of the European INTERREG Programme with the title "WASTE RREACT" and beneficiary the Region of the Ionian Islands.
11. At the same time, the procedures for the establishment of a separate paper-cardboard collection network with 1,100 yellow bins, which comes from earlier funding, were completed.
